“I was asked, among other things, to come up with a particularly easy and functional handbag.

With these words Silvia Venturini Fendi describes the origins of one of the myth-bags of our times, loved by all the fashionistas and celebrated by Sex And The City (Do you remember when Mr Big announced to Carrie his marriage with Natasha, and she used her Baguette to hit whoever was in her way? Unforgettable episode) that is turning 15 this year.

Born in 1997, the Baguette has become one of the most emblematic accessories of the maison Fendi and, during the years, it has been produced in more than 700 models, now celebrated in a photographic book from Rizzoli called The Fendi Baguette Book. Using 250 images the catalogue goes through the astonishing variety of Baguettes, from the classic ones, to the limited edition created by some of the most talented contemporary artist such as Damien Hirst, Francesco Vezzoli and Zinoo Park.

Last but not least, as part of the celebration of the 15th anniversary of the Baguette, Fendi is also reissuing six of the Baguette’s best-selling versions, chosen by the creative director Silvia Venturini Fendi.

Così Silvia Venturini Fendi descrive le origini di una delle borse mito dei nostri tempi, amata da tutte le fashioniste e celebrata da Sex and The City (Indimenticabile l'episodio in cui Mr Big annuncia a Carrie il suo matrimonio con Natasha e lei utilizza la sua Baguette per colpire chiunque le capiti a tiro) che quest'anno compie 15 anni.

Nata nel 1997 e diventata negli anni uno degli accessori più emblematici della maison Fendi, la Baguette è stata prodotta in più di 700 modelli, celebrati tutti nel libro antologico edito da Rizzoli The Fendi Baguette Book. Attraverso 250 immagini il catalogo mostra la strabiliante varietà di Baguette, dai modelli classici alle edizioni limitate pensate come opere d'arte in collaborazione con artisti contemporanei del calibro di Damien Hirst, Francesco Vezzoli e Zinoo Park.

Inoltre per l'occasione la Maison Fendi riediterà 6 modelli cult della Baguette, scelti dalla direttrice artistica Silvia Venturini Fendi.
