Last week one of the most iconic photographer of our times passed away. I want to remember him with some of my favorite pictures.
La scorsa settimana uno dei fotografi più iconici dei nostri tempi ci ha lasciati. Voglio ricordarlo con alcune delle mie foto preferite.
Bert Stern wasn't just the photographer behind Marilyn Monroe's last shooting, The Last Sitting, a collection of 2,500 photographs taken for Vogue US six weeks before Marilyn died, he was above all the rest, a true innovator. Together with Richard Avedon and Irving Penn was able to redefine the imagery of fashion and advertising photography, using a candid and realistic approach that shows the intimate part off all his subjects. That's why his portraits are so deep and intense. I want to remember him with some of his amazing pictures.
Bert Stern non è stato solo il fotografo che ha scattato le ultime famosissime immagini di Marilyn Monroe, The Last Sitting, 2.500 scatti commissionati da Vogue America e realizzati appena sei settimane prima che la divina Marilyn morisse, è stato prima di tutto e soprattutto un innovatore. Insieme a Richard Avedon e Irving Penn ha rivoluzionato il modo di concepire l'immagine nella pubblicità e nella moda, offrendo un nuovo approccio, candido e realistico, quasi empatico con il suo soggetto. Voglio ricordarlo così, con alcuni dei suoi meravigliosi scatti.
