A new day for Louis Vuitton

"'Today is a new day. A big day. You are about to witness my first fashion show for Louis Vuitton. Words cannot express exactly how I am feeling at this moment... Above all, immense joy." This is the beginning of a new era. This is Nicolas Ghesquiere for Louis Vuitton.

Not a pharaonic set, but just a really sweet handwritten letter welcomed the lucky audience of the LV show today. Nicolas is not Marc and that was clear at first sight.
Few designer are beloved and respected as he is and every eye on the fashion world was starring at that catwalk this morning. And this collection was totally worth the long wait.

The genius who was accused to be too creative, to create pieces that work just on the pages of fashion magazines and don't sell in store, showed to his detractors what he can do. He presented a new, understated but yet super powerful collection where the full focus was on craftsmanship. The leather coats, the crocodile and above all the accessories. Ghesquiere created what will clearly be the bestseller for the season, the new Petite Malle. He took the iconic Vuitton's trunk and transformed it into a bag that is the perfect mix of sense of style and business eye.
The first chapeter of his saga gave us the key to understand the new era, I am waiting for the sequel for the standing ovation.

The new Petite Malle, start saving people!
